Who We Are
Middlesbrough 1st is a charity who work with adults with learning difficulties, autism and neurodivergence. We do our best to make sure that others can have the best quality of life they can achieve.
What We Do
We focused on advocacy and support for adults with learning disabilities in order to help them speak out, articulate their wishes and protect their rights.
How We Do It
Middlesbrough 1st regularly organises events and gatherings for adults with learning disabilities, we do this to provide enrichment and opportunities for socialising amongst people who may be isolated normally. We often work with a number of other local organisations and charities in Middlesbrough to do this.
We run regular groups, one being 'Brothers and Sisters' who meet once per month on Thursday at Larchfield Community 10am till 3pm. We regularly have guest speakers, activities, Health and wellbeing sessions, exercises and dancing and singing.
